Breast Implant Manufacturer Identification

     Dr. Resch has been involved as a consultant and expert witness in product liability litigation for over twenty years.  During this period he has evaluated nearly 3000 mammary implants in addition to his other investigations of failed implantable medical devices.  Additionally he has recorded sworn testimony in a combined 100 depositions and trials in Federal and State courts across the United States.  His company, Resch Engineering, Inc. was incorporated in Nebraska in 1994.   The company has issued approximately 500 sworn affidavits to the MDL 926 and Dow Corning Claims Offices on behalf of its clients.

     The identification of the manufacturer of mammary implants is accomplished based on the specific type of evidence that a client may have in her/his possession:

  1. Physical evidence consisting of the mammary implants themselves which have an "official" Dow Corning or Bristol, Baxter,3M or McGhan unique product identifier molded into the shell of the implant.
  2. Certified medical records which denote the implant catalog number, lot number, serial number, and volume
  3. Photographs taken by the explanting surgeon or pathologist which contain enough information about the physical characteristics of the implants to facilitate a positive identification

     Resch Engineering, Inc. performs nondestructive evaluation of physical evidence, or evaluation of appropriate records or photographs on a fixed fee basis for clients who are willing to enter a contractual relationship with the company.   The fixed fee for providing the client with; nondestructive evaluation of the implants, evaluation and digital macrophotography or microphotography of any existing unique product identifiers on the implants, production of a notarized affidavit which states the manufacturer of the implants and includes photographs of the unique product identifiers, and return shipping via FedEx is specified in the Individual Client Account Contract..

To request that we send you an Individual Client Contract with no obligation on your part:

  1. Call us with your: Name, Mailing Address, City, State, Zip, Phone #, Fax # (if available) and your E-mail Address (if available)  during regular business hours at (402) 476-3806 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time.
  2. Upon receipt of this information, Resch Engineering, Inc. will send you an Individual Client Account Contract via  fax, or U.S. mail in addition to detailed instructions for receiving, storing and shipping the physical evidence.
  3. If you agree to the terms of the contract, you must sign the contract in the presence of a Notary Public to confirm your identity.  Once you have properly packaged your evidence, send your evidence including a copy of the contract which contains your signature, and the signature and stamp of a Notary Public  plus a check or money order for  the retainer fee made out to Resch Engineering, Inc. via Federal Express to our office address in Lincoln, NE (shown at the top of this page)  
  4. Your evidence and three original notarized affidavits including the photographs will be sent to you via FedEx within 60 (sixty) calendar days of our receipt of your evidence and fixed fee payment.  Note: there will be a $30 fee charged to the client for any checks or other payment methods which are returned due to insufficient funds.
  5. Note: NO EVIDENCE WILL BE ACCEPTED OR PROCESSED by the company without the execution of a signed contract and receipt of the fixed fee.
